Background
Prince Aerion Targaryen was a member of House Targaryen, being the youngest son of Prince Baelon Targaryen and Princess Alyssa Targaryen. He is the younger brother of Prince Daemon Targaryen and King Viserys I Targaryen.Aerion was a proficient warrior and a highly skilled politician. He held the title of Master of Laws and wielded the Valyrian Steel blade Bloodseeker. A dragonrider who’s dragon was Vermithor, Aerion backed the Blacks. During the Dance of the Dragons, he was a prominent supporter and later Hand of the Queen for his niece, Rhaenyra.

Appearance and Character
Aerion possesses the classical Valyrian features: he has pale skin, silver-blond hair, and pale lilac eyes. Aerion's face was sculptured and held a silent strength in his striking features. In his early twenties, Aerion was tall, lean, and handsome.He was seen as wise, just, kind-hearted, self-confident, and charismatic. His temper would burn bright if provoked, but Aerion had the discipline to keep it in check.Aerion owned black plate armor, with the red three-headed dragon of House Targaryen adorning the breastplate.

Early Life
Aerion was born as the third son of Prince Baelon Targaryen and his sister-wife, Princess Alyssa Targaryen. He had two older brothers, Viserys and Daemon, as well as one younger twin brother, Aegon, who died in infancy. Aerion was adventurous in his youth, seeking knowledge and advancement within both books and warfare.

Reign of Viserys I
Aerion was an active member within his brother Viserys’ court and regularly entered tourney’s, most often falling short of victory at the hands of his older brother, Daemon.Navigating the political intricacies of court came just as easy to Aerion as swordsmanship, making many close friends and allies. Impressing both his older brother, the King, and his closest advisors, Aerion was named to the small council and made Master of Laws.Aerion was very close with and inseparable from Rhaenyra given their similar ages, developing deep and silent affections for her. Affections that he felt was mutual. Not wishing to further agitate his brother on the sensitive topic given how problematic it already was for him, Aerion decided not to ask for a potential match between himself and Rhaenyra.

the dance of dragons
When King Viserys I Targaryen died, Aerion was called to the small council. Plans were brought forth to crown Alicent's son as Aegon II, instead of Princess Rhaenyra, who had been named Viserys's heir. Aerion reminded those who wanted to support that idea of who the chosen heir was, not believing that his brother named Aegon as heir with his dying breath. He saw through the lies and everyone knew it. Aerion told Alicent, Otto, and the rest of the small council that they dishonored the memory of Viserys and would die as traitors in the war to come.Aerion had a brief scuffle with Ser Criston Cole before he stormed out of the small council chambers to gather his belongings and leave. The King’s Guard trapped him inside of his room and he later made his escape from the capital alongside Rhaenys, who was also imprisoned.With his return to Dragonstone, he affirmed his support and bent the knee to Rhaenyra, becoming a prominent member of her council, one of her strongest dragonriders, and later becoming Hand of the Queen.
